With the release of iOS 8 for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch, we are now allowed to hide photos we don't want others to see. So if you have an embarrassing photo of yourself on your phone, why not hide it? In this video, I show you how to do just that.
Jailbreak - Jailbreaking is the name given to the process used to modify the operating system running on an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad to allow the user greater control over their device, including the ability to remove Apple-imposed restrictions and install apps obtained and other content through means other than the official App Store (among the most prevalent of these alternative sources is Cydia). After the release of iOS 7.1.1, Apple released a lot of different security patches, making it difficult for people to Jailbreak any iOS device running the latest firmware. Today, a Chinese Developer released a tool called 'PanGu' which is the very first jailbreak for iOS 7.1.1 devices.
At the moment, this tool is only available for Windows (with Mac support coming soon). You can download the tool here. Update: The Jailbreaking Tool, is now available for Mac as of June 29th, 2014. Yesterday during the annual Developers Conference (also known as "WWDC"), Apple released 2 very significant updates to both of their operating systems (iOS and OS X) with the release of two very brand new updates for them (OS X Yosemite and iOS 8). 2014, was definitely the year for Macs with the new release, giving the operating system a brand new design that more resembles iOS 7's interface. A simple aesthetic change isn't the only the only thing apple added to the operating system. You can now, use AirDrop with iOS devices from your mac and vice versa. This allows people to easily transfer files to other people or to themselves easily, over Wi-Fi connection. Some features that were in iOS 7 are also being added into the Macs new operating system, such as the Today-View for notification center, giving you up to date information when you need it (Reminders, Calendar Events, Weather Reports, etc). With the addition of the Today-View for notification center, Apple has also announced app store widgets for notification center, allowing you to have a specific panel dedicated to widgets for your notification center so you can stay up to date about your favorite teams scores and your Ebay bids.
Those are just a few of the things that Apple announced at yesterdays WWDC Conference. If you would like to watch the full 2 our stream of the conference then click here Apple, has just updated all of its iWork applications with a number of different design tweaks and new features for both the OS X and iOS versions.
View the changelog below... With the release of iOS 7, Apple has brought a new feature called Automatic App Updates which updates all of your applications that you downloaded from the App Store in the background, saving you time from going into the App Store to update them by hand. Some people don't like this feature because they want to read the change log for the latest updates so that they can utilize the new features. In this video, I show you how to disable this new feature so that you can manually update your applications.
In iOS 7, Apple has redesigned iOS by introducing a flat design with some menus and windows having a blurred-like design. Although, the blurred design is very beautiful, it can slow down your iOS device since it uses a lot of resources in order to work. In this video, I show you how to disable the blur effect in iOS 7 so you can improve the performance of your device.
Something that iPhones do not have is a notification light, alerting you when you have notifications waiting for you to view. Apple, has however included a way for you to turn your LED Flash into a notification light so you will know when you have notifications without looking at your screen. In this video, I show you how to turn this feature on.
In iOS 7, there is a new feature called Parallax which allows your wallpaper on your device to move around thanks to the Gyroscope on your device. The parallax effect in iOS 7 is a big battery drainer so it is a good idea to disable this so you can use your iOS 7 device longer. In this video, I show you how to disable the parallax effect so you can speed up your iOS device and save some precious battery life.
